Created for a university packaging design class, Mozza is a conceptual pizza brand built from scratch. The assignment was to create a custom pizza box design.

Created for a university packaging design class, Mozza is a conceptual pizza brand built from scratch. The assignment was to create a custom pizza box design.

Challange

Takeaway pizza boxes are completely flooded with clichés, like checkerboard patterns, red/green/white stripes, and stock illustrations of brick ovens. I took challenge upon myself to break away from all of that. I had to build a fictional brand ("Mozza Pizza") that felt established, without looking old-fashioned. The branding system had to communicate traditional quality through modern, punchy design that would stand out on any kitchen counter.

Solution

I designed a visual system anchored in a powerful, rounded typeface for the MOZZA logo, and outstanding pizza illustrations to go on top of the logo. It feels bold, touchable, and "puffy" like mozzarella itself. The unique orange-teal color palette replaces standard pizza box colors, making the packaging unforgettable.
